COVID Resources

Various organizations have created materials and resources to assist parents in explaining COVID and safety measures such as masks.

The American Federation for Teachers created a Tip Sheet for Supporting Students with Disabilities during COVID. This tip sheet includes suggestions for apps that might be useful for home use.

ASERT (Autism Services, Education, Resources and Training) shared a lot of resources and created a Coronavirus Health & Safety Guide.

Autism Educator has created several social stories on the COVID virus and vaccinations.

The Autism Speaks website includes information on the virus for parents and professionals

Innovation for Inclusion in Early Childhood created a list of resources for talking to your child about COVID.

National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations (NCPMI) is funded by the Office of Special Education Programs to improve and support the capacity of state systems and local programs to implement an early childhood multi-tiered system of support.  They developed a list of resources to assist families during emergencies and natural disasters.

Sesame Street and CNN created a series of videos to teach children about COVID.

National Technical Assistance Center for Inclusive Education for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities (TIES) has created a distance learning series to assist parents in working with the child at home.
