Trying to find fun things to do around the city can be difficult because you aren't sure where to look. Below are some things to do, see, and enjoy near and around Pittsburgh.

Check out these fun things to do! We tried to find fun things to do around the area that also accommodate children and adults with disabilities.

In collaboration with Not Forgotten Home and Community Services, the Baierl Family YMCA is pleased to host Art and Exercise for our Special Needs Community.  If you are looking for a fun afternoon of activities stop by the Baierl Family YMCA on Fridays beginning at noon.  We are located at 2565 Nicholson Road in Franklin Park.  These classes are geared towards ages 16 and up.  You do not need to be a Y member to attend. 

Band Together Pittsburgh believes that music has the power to unify the world.

They envision using music to inspire and enrich the lives of those on the autism spectrum, enabling integration with family, friends, and society as a whole.

Three Rivers Community Cares is putting together an inclusive community choir. 

Creative Citizen Studios (CCS) uses art to bring people of all abilities together. We work with artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities to make, exhibit, and sell their work. Our weekly art classes, workshops, and exhibit opportunities help promote our artists while connecting them with a larger community of artists.

CCS Is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with Citizen-artists featured in local, regional, and national art shows and exhibit spaces.

Provides sport and physical activity opportunities for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Includes 27 fun things to do in Pittsburgh that are family friendly.

Their mission to provide you and supporters with short moments of encouragement, respite and purpose. They incorporate nature therapy as the key element of our programming. Connection to the natural world is relaxing and restorative, it also illustrates life’s beauty, challenges and cycles that relate directly to caregiving. Rest summer calendar

Caregiver Support Program   

This website has a calendar of events that you can access to see activities around the city. You can also search by age, price, and topic.

Miracles in Moon aims to provide an inclusive environment for families and the community. Baseball and soccer are offered to all, regardless of disability and soon there will be an adaptive playground.

Miss 22 Quties is a non-profit organization created by Tammy Rose. Founder and Executive Director of Miss 22 Quties, Rose debuted the organization in the summer of 2011 with an event like no other, a beauty pageant for young women with special needs.

Open Up's mission is to teach mindfulness tools through movement and art practices that center people living with disabilities. Our programs are open to all who identify as having a disability and those who do not. They are for everyone.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. 

At Spectrum Fudge, we create uniquely delicious confections while providing a supportive and inclusive workplace for individuals on the autism spectrum. Our signature smooth and creamy fudge is crafted with premium Belgian chocolate using old-world techniques. We spread sweet joy by promoting personal growth, opportunities, awareness, and acceptance.

So much to do and see just 30 minutes away from the city. You can find family fun amusement, outdoor adventures, art and culture, and restaurants in Beaver County.
